Our analysis, 2025
Alliance Community Bank, the fifth-largest lender in Springfield, made 28% more loans in 2025, a faster rise than at more than four in five similar banks.
Its loans rose to 295 from 231. Similar lenders, state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans, grew by 8%. It has grown every year since 2022, when it made 158 loans.
It ranked 5 of 217 lenders in Springfield, behind INB, Bank of Springfield and United Community Bank. Yet its share slipped by 0.4 points to 4.4% even as its loans grew. Shares are counted in dollars and its loans are small, so the growth may have come in small loans or outside Springfield. County figures would show which.
Home purchases made up 76.9% of its loans. Every loan was conventional, and none was a jumbo. Its typical loan was $125,000, against $175,000 at similar lenders, smaller than at about four in five of them.
Borrowers with low and moderate incomes (LMI) took 37.0% of its loans, against 28.4% at similar lenders. Poorer neighborhoods (LMI tracts) took 28.8%, against 16.8%. Both shares were higher than at more than four in five similar banks, which fits its small loans. Neighborhoods where most residents are minorities took 2.4%, below peers' 6.3%; the counties it serves may be the reason.
Similar lenders: same lender type, originations between half and twice the lender's in the data year. Written from the 2025 HMDA data and checked figure by figure against it.
