Fewer loans in 2025, but more dollars
Originations fell 9% to 621 while similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans) rose 8% and the whole market 10%, lower than nearly nine in ten of them. Dollar volume still rose, from $137.1 million to $148.4 million, as loans grew larger. Its 2023 count of 864 was the highest since 2018, so the fall may partly reflect an unusually busy 2023, and 2025 is close to its 2020 and 2021 counts of 668 and 676.
