A purchase lender with a large government-backed book
Home purchases were 88.2% of its loans. FHA loans (insured by the Federal Housing Administration) were 30.9% and VA loans (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs) 4.1%, where the typical similar lender (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans) made none. Its typical loan, $235,000 against $105,000, was larger than at nearly all of them.
