Lower shares across its Ohio markets
In Cleveland, where it has lent since before 1990, The Huntington National Bank and CrossCountry Mortgage led. Its share also fell 0.2 points to 0.9% in Akron, ranking 23 of 401, and 0.1 points in Columbus and Toledo. Its originations fell 11% to 1,189, while similar lenders (savings institutions making between half and twice as many loans) grew 5%. One possible reason is that it bought 165 loans from other lenders rather than making them; another is its reliance on home purchases.
