Fewer loans, more dollars
Originations fell 4% to 1,453 while similar lenders (national banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew 11% and the whole market 10%. The dollar amount rose to $511.0 million from $447.2 million, and its typical loan to $205,000 from $155,000; a move toward larger loans could be one reason the count fell. Jumbo loans (larger than the conforming limit) were 9.5%, higher than nearly nine in ten peers (1.7%).
