OneAZ Credit Union is an Arizona credit union whose originations rose 18% in 2025, faster than most similar lenders, with most of its loans for home improvement and other purposes.
Originations rose 18% to 1,992 from 1,688, while similar lenders (credit unions making between half and twice as many loans) grew 10%, as did the whole market; about seven in ten similar lenders grew less. It made 2,212 loans in 2020.
Home improvement made up 31.9% of its lending and other purposes 27.9%, against 25.5% for purchase and 14.8% for refinance. 7.9% were jumbo (larger than the conforming limit), against 1.8% at similar lenders, higher than nearly nine in ten of them, and its typical loan was $155,000, against $115,000.
Its share rose in every Arizona market where one is shown: to 3.1% from 2.4% in Flagstaff, where it ranked 6 of 270, to 3.0% from 2.9% in Prescott Valley-Prescott (4 of 380) and to 0.7% from 0.5% in Tucson. In Yuma it rose to 0.3% from 0.0%; the 2025 merger with 1st Bank Yuma, whose filings count as OneAZ's in these figures, may account for part of that.
19.3% of its loans went to LMI (low- and moderate-income) borrowers, against 26.4%, lower than about four in five similar lenders; its larger typical loan and jumbo share may point to members with higher incomes. It turned down 11.9% of first-lien refinance applications on owner-occupied homes, against 20.1%, and 6.2% of purchase applications, against 6.3%.
