Simmons Bank, an Arkansas bank grown through a long run of mergers, held its loan count nearly steady in 2025 and lends more in LMI and majority-minority areas than most similar banks.
Flat year, far below 2020
Originations fell 1% to 3,125, while similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans) typically grew 3% and the whole market 10%. The amount lent rose from $777.7 million to $921.0 million. The bank made 7,402 loans in 2020, more than twice this year's count.
Much more lending in LMI and majority-minority areas

Gaining in Little Rock
Its share in Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway rose from 1.8% to 2.3%, 12 of 423 lenders, in a market led by Arvest Bank and First Security Bank. It ranks 11 of 459 in non-metro Arkansas, and has lent in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington and Houston since before 1990.
