Idaho Central Credit Union is the leading lender in Boise, Coeur d'Alene and Idaho Falls, and it widened its share in each in 2025 as its loans rose 24%.
Its Boise share rose to 14.1% from 13.4%, Idaho Falls to 13.8% from 12.5%, and Coeur d'Alene to 11.9% from 11.6%, ranking first in each and in non-metro Idaho. In Spokane, Washington, it rose to 2.9% from 1.8%, ranking 8 of 346.
Similar lenders are credit unions making between half and twice as many loans; their loans rose 9% and the market's 10%. Its 10,608 loans remain below the 16,562 of 2020. Home improvement was its largest purpose at 37.2%, ahead of purchases at 33.0%, and its typical loan of $195,000 was higher than nearly nine in ten similar lenders'.
Only 1.1% of its loans were in majority-minority areas, against 9.4%, the lowest of similar lenders. Most of its lending is in Idaho, and its markets may simply contain few such areas.
