A second year of fewer loans
Originations fell from 57 to 52, down 9%, while the typical similar lender (state non-member banks making between half and twice as many loans) grew 5% and the whole market 10%; its change was lower than about seven in ten of them. It made 69 loans in 2023, the first year on record after a gap with no reports from 2018 to 2022. Dollars fell from $15.5 million to $11.6 million. A quieter local market or a choice to lend less could explain it.
