Primebank grew 31% in 2025, faster than more than four in five similar lenders, and lifted its share of the Sioux City market to 7.9%, second only to Central Bank.
It ranks 2 of 167 in Sioux City with 7.9% of lending, up 1.9 points from 6.0%, behind Central Bank and ahead of The Security National Bank of Sioux City, Iowa. It has lent there since 2008. It also ranks 24 of 465 in non-metro Iowa.
Loans rose from 261 to 342, up 31%, against 6% for similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans) and 10% for the whole market. Volume remains below the 779 of 2020; there is no report for 2021, a gap in the record rather than a year without lending.
Of its loans, 16.4% were in majority-minority neighbourhoods, against 6.6% for peers and up from 5.8% five years before, higher than about seven in ten similar lenders. LMI (low- and moderate-income) borrowers took 32.2%, more than the 27.7% of peers. Its share in LMI areas, 13.2%, is lower than the 16.5% of peers, which may reflect the neighbourhoods around its branches.
All its loans were conventional and almost none jumbo. It turned down 3.4% of first-lien home-purchase applications on owner-occupied homes, lower than about three in four similar lenders, whose typical rate was 6.7%. That points to a straightforward home-loan book.
