Bank Iowa gained share in its main Iowa metros in 2025, most sharply in Cedar Rapids, while making small loans and a larger share of rural-housing loans than any similar lender.
Its Cedar Rapids share rose from 0.1% to 1.1%, Waterloo-Cedar Falls from 0.3% to 0.7%, and Des Moines from 1.4% to 1.9%, where it ranks 13 of 396. Originations rose 10% to 759, in line with the whole market and a little ahead of similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans).
4.6% of its loans were RHS loans (guaranteed by the Department of Agriculture's Rural Housing Service), the highest among similar lenders, whose typical share is none. It made no FHA loans (insured by the Federal Housing Administration) and no VA loans (guaranteed by the Department of Veterans Affairs).
