Little lending in LMI areas
Only 2.4% of its loans were in LMI (low- and moderate-income) areas, lower than nearly all similar lenders (state member banks making between half and twice as many loans), whose typical share is 16.4%; none were in majority-minority areas. Yet 28.6% went to LMI borrowers, near the middle of the group. Lending centred on small Nebraska towns, where few tracts may be classed as LMI, could explain it.
